Our Foundation

Create A Memory Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Minnesota nonprofit corporation founded in 1989.

Create A Memory program started 39 years ago with a simple idea of providing children, typically ages 7-13, from local Minneapolis/St. Paul youth service agencies the opportunity to play ball at major sports facilities.

Create A Memory was held at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome from 1989 to 2009.  We are thrilled that Create A Memory has been held at Target Field since it was built in 2010.

The idea was to give the children of the community something special that every child would love to do.  Each participating child would be able to return to school in the fall and tell the class that “I Played Ball at Target Field”, the home of the Minnesota Twins.

The Create A Memory events typically include:  running the bases, wiffleball, baseball clinic, radar toss, kickball, softball, home run derby, tour of Target Field, autograph table with local athletes and celebrities, of course, pizza and ice cream.

Everyone attending the Create A Memory event gets t-shirts to wear for the event.  The children also each receive a gift bag.
